Huntington Station Stabbing Seriously Injures Man: Police

Two men were arguing when one stabbed the other in the neck, chest and abdomen, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A man was arrested in connection with stabbing and seriously injuring another man in Huntington Station on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

Two men were arguing inside Las Lajas Deli, at 156 Depot Road, when one of the men stabbed the other in the neck, chest, and abdomen around 10 p.m., police said. Adelcy Almendarez, 50, of Huntington Station, was arrested, police said.

The man who was stabbed, 40 years old, was brought to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.

Almendarez was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
