Huntington Town Clerk to Perform Valentine's Day Marriage Ceremonies

Jo-Ann Raia has performed more than 600 marriage ceremonies, officials say.

Huntington Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia has served as the town’s marriage officer for the past 26 years.

In this role, Raia has the legal authority to perform civil marriage ceremonies within the Town of Huntington. In total, she has performed more than 600 marriage ceremonies, according to the town’s website.

Saturday, Feb. 14, marks the 20th year that Raia will perform her “Valentine’s Day Marriage Ceremony ’Marathon.’” The Town Board Room, where the ceremonies are performed, will be transformed into what the town describes on its website as a “magical wonderland for ‘Love’s Greatest Holiday.” A growing list of local merchants – bakeries, florists, supermarkets, pharmacies and photographers – continue to support this event, contributing cakes, cookies, flowers and gifts. Raia, too, has been known to contribute to add to the festivities.
