Officials Issue Alert for Glen Cove Residents
Mayor's office and police say they've received numerous complaints about solicitors ringing doorbells day and night.

The following was issued by Mayor Reginald Spinello
I have issued an alert to all Glen Cove Residents with regard to solicitors going door-to-door asking for donations on behalf of APPCO GROUP US/Childfund International. This organization does not have the required permits and authorizations from the Glen Cove Police Department to solicit in our neighborhoods. Further, their “certificate” of not-for-profit status is expired and/or does not state the required information that would properly identify this group as a not-for-profit.
My office and the police department received numerous complaints from residents regarding solicitors constantly ringing door bells at all hours of the night and, when there’s no answer, the loud banging of the doors of the home.
