Voters Approve South Huntington Budget, Elect Trustees
Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.
South Huntington residents approved a 2018-19 school budget on Tuesday.
The $170,505,675 budget passed with 1107 yes votes and 398 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 4.74 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.15 percent tax levy increase.
Residents also elected incumbents Michele R. DeGaetano, Linda O. LaCara and Edward J. Nitkewicz to the South Huntington Board of Education.
