The Shack is Back with 'Clams and Chaos'

Roadside favorite reopens for the season.

You know summer's right around the corner when The Shack is open for business. The outdoor picnic tables, tasty food, family- and dog-friendly atmosphere are a 100 percent go.

The Shack, located on a bend of 25A in Centerport, is a local favorite, home of "clams and chaos" and plenty of good times. Clams aren't the only thing on the menu, however. Be sure to check out the lobster roll, mussels with garlic and wine, and burgers, with new specials featured every day. Check out the attached pictures to see the full menu.

The Shack also offers a selection of beers on tap including Guinness, Red Wagon, Stella, Blue Point, and Blue Moon.

You can roll in seven days a week anytime after 11 a.m., The Shack doesn't have a strict closing time, and staff say that they'll stay open until the last mouth is fed. Parking is a bit tricky, however, so be sure you keep your wits about you.

"We try not to turn anybody away," said manager Kat Colodny. "We want people to have really good food and a really good time, and leave happy."

The Shack owner Mace Colodny is opening another location in the next month or so at 46 Gerard Street in Huntington Village. It will serve the favorites as well as higher end fare. Look for the full scoop on Patch.
