Walt Whitman Teacher Sentenced To 90 Days For Sex Abuse
The former social studies teacher had an inappropriate relationship with one of his teenage students last year.

A former teacher in the South Huntington School District was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment on Wednesday for having an inappropriate relationship with one of his students, according to court records.
Brian Dreher, 42, of Huntington Station, a former social studies teacher at Walt Whitman High School, also received a sentence of 10 years probation, a 10-year final order of protection and various fee charges.
He pleaded guilty in January to sexual misconduct, sex abuse, criminal sex act and rape charges.

An investigation into Dreher's conduct discovered that he was having an inappropriate relationship with one of his 16-year-old female students, police say. Dreher was arrested at his home in May 2017. He was charged with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child.
Dreher was placed on administrative leave and was banned from campus following his arrest.
