Islip Beach Closed To Bathing Thursday Due To Bacteria Levels
The Suffolk County Health Department announced that bacteria findings at Islip Town Beach were above an acceptable level.

ISLIP, NY—No swimming today at Islip Town Beach, Suffolk County warns. The beach on the Great South Bay was found to have bacteria level above a level considered safe for bathing.
The Suffolk County Department of Health issued the warning on Thursday afternoon. Swimming is prohibited until further notice.
Bathing in bacteria-contaminated water can cause stomach illness and infections.
