Islip Councilor Featuring Town Vets In Upcoming Publication

Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. is creating a record of Islip residents who've served. Find out how to be included.

ISLIP, NY — An Islip councilor is collecting the names and biographical information of town veterans to be included in the 2022 edition of the Islip Journal of War Veterans.

Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr., a retired U.S. Navy Captain and Chair of the Islip Town Veterans' Advisory Board, has been maintaining the town's Veterans Office — and as part of that work, he is commemorating Islip vets.

Anyone who served at any time from the first Gulf War to the present is invited to send the information listed below, along with their contact information, to Councilman Cochrane's Office at 655 Main St., Islip, NY 11751.

Submissions may also be sent electronically to islipwarjournal@islipny.gov, and a submission form is available for download here.

"This latest volume of the journal will join past editions that previously featured Veterans who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and other modern conflicts," town officials said in a news release.
