• Central Islip Man High On Meth, Alcohol Sentenced After Wrong-Way Sunrise Highway Crash: DA (patch.com) — A Central Islip man has been sentenced to 3 to 9 years in state prison for a wrong-way, intoxicated crash on Sunrise Highway’s south service road in West Islip that seriously injured two people. Prosecutors say he was high on meth and alcohol, driving on a revoked license, and that West Islip firefighters and a bystander helped rescue everyone from the burning vehicles.
