Islip To Expected To Work With Engineering Co. In Pedestrian Project
The town is expected to work with the company in a pedestrian revitalization project. Here's what they've previously done.

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY — The Town of Islip is expected to enter into a contract with a New Hyde Park-based engineering service, best known for their work on prominent New York City bridges, tunnels, and infrastructure.
Supervisor Angie Carpenter intends to work with M & J Engineering, P.C., for Design and Construction-Management Services for the Central Islip Downtown Revitalization-C1001606 Enhanced Pedestrian Experience, according to Tuesday's town board agenda.
Established in the mid-2000s, and the company has previously done work on public bridges, submarines, the Long Island Rail Roads's Third Track Expansion and the Freeport Power Plant.

Its most prominent projects include its restoration of the Queens Midtown Tunnel after Superstorm Sandy, according to its website. In 2014, it also did reconstruction of Alexander Hamilton Bridge in Manhattan and Highbridge in the Bronx,the largest completed contract in the history of the New York State Department of Transportation.
The meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday and will take place at Islip Town Hall, Town Board Room, 655 Main Street in Islip.
