LONG ISLAND, NY — After a windy yet dry first full week of March, Long Island can expect rain, clouds, and possible snow this weekend.

After 4 p.m., the island can expect rain, and possible leading into early Saturday morning, the National Weather Service said. The snow will most likely turn to rain.

The predicted windchill values are expected to drop between 25 and 30 mph at night, with wind gusts as high as 28 to 31 mph.

On Sunday, precipitation should even out, but then return in rain and snow after early Monday morning.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of rain after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Friday Night: Rain before 4am, then rain and snow. Low around 34. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Southeast wind 8 to 18 mph becoming east after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 10am, then gradually ending. High near 42. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. North wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 30. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. North wind 9 to 14 mph.

Sunday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 44. North wind 6 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain and snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Monday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
