LONG ISLAND, NY — After a stormy start to the week, Long Islanders can expect a little less precipitation this weekend.

While temperatures reached a high of mid-50's and partly cloudy skies on Thursday, residents should prepare for some rain to return Friday afternoon and into the night.

Saturday awaits another break of rain, with a high of 50 degrees and gradually becoming mostly sunny.

However, a drop in temperature will occur on a "breezy" Sunday.

Friday: Isolated showers after 2pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 52. South wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Friday Night: Scattered showers, mainly after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 39. Southwest wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind around 11 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. West wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Breezy.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 29.
