Man Robs Suffolk County Post Office, Flees With Cash: Police

The man demanded cash at the post office, police say.

ISLIP TERRACE, NY — A man who robbed a Suffolk County post office on Thursday is currently sought after by police.

At about 10:53 a.m., a man entered the Islip Terrace Post Office, located at 136 Carleton Ave., at 10:53 a.m. and displayed a note demanding cash.

The cashier complied, and the man fled the post office with cash, police said.

The man was described as Black and in his late 40s to early 50s. He was wearing glasses and gloves.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.

The U.S. Postal Inspector is also assisting the investigation.
