Gunmen Hold Up East Elmhurst Sunoco, Flee With Just $30: NYPD

The two armed thieves made their getaway in a silver BMW, police say.

EAST ELMHURST, QUEENS -- Two gunmen escaped with just $30 after holding up an East Elmhurst gas station, police said.

Cops are searching for the two men, who rolled up to the Sunoco Gas Station at 88-20 Astoria Blvd. in a BMW M3 at around 2:55 a.m. on Feb. 17.

Once inside, the duo pulled out guns on the gas attendant and demanded cash, police told Patch.

But $30 was all the two thieves got before fleeing the gas station, hopping into their luxury vehicle and speeding away down Astoria Boulevard, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Police describe both men as around 5-foot-7 and roughly 170 pounds. In surveillance photos released by NYPD, the driver wears a read hooded sweatshirt and dark gray pants, and the other armed man is clad in a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and brown boots.
