Suspects Arrested In Killing Of Queens Rapper 'Chinx'
Two Long Island men were arrested for the 2015 fatal drive-by shooting of the up-and-coming Queens rapper.

BRIARWOOD, QUEENS -- Two Long Island inmates were arrested Thursday in the 2015 drive-by shooting that killed Queens rapper Chinx.
Jamar Hill, 26, of Valley Stream and Quincy Homere, 32, of Baldwin, both face up to life in prison in the slaying of rapper Lionel "Chinx" Pickens, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said. The 31-year-old hip hop star was killed, and his friend injured, in a drive-by shooting in Briarwood while sitting in his Porsche after a nightclub performance in Brooklyn.
Hill and Homere - both already behind bars on separate charges - face a five-count indictment for second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Brown said.

“In another example of the mindless gun violence plaguing our country, a young, up-and coming musician had his life and career dramatically cut short by a burst of senseless shooting that also wounded an acquaintance," Brown said.
According to the charges, in the early hours of May 17, 2015, Hill and Homere allegedly followed Pickens from his Brooklyn nightclub performance into Queens and opened fire on Pickens' car parked near Main Street and Queens Boulevard.

Inside the car, Pickens and his friend Antar Alziadi, 27, were riddled with bullets, each hit multiple times, Brown said. After the shooting, a bloodied Alziadi managed to stumble out of the car and call 911, the New York Post reported.
Both men were rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where Pickens was pronounced dead and Alziadi was treated for his injuries.
“This indictment shows that the two defendants essentially stalked their victims before shooting them and making a getaway," said New York City Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill.
Hill and Homere are awaiting arraignment in the Queens Supreme Court. Each faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
