PHOTOS: Kings Park Fire Department Lets Their Hair Down in a Shave-Off
The KPFD challenged neighboring fire departments to a shave off and got some hair raising donations.
There are not only Kings Park's bravest, they may be their baldest.
Members of the Kings Park Fire Department recently challenged neighboring fire departments to a "Shave Off" as a way to celebrate the department's 100 year anniversary and to show their continued support and solidarity for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
Members from eight different fire departments participated in the Shave Off, raising more than $8,500.

Last month, the KPFD's St. Baldrick's team raised nearly $20,000 shaving their heads at the Park Lounge's annual St. Baldrick's event.
Hans Richter, captain of the department's St. Baldrick's team said donations are not limited to the time of year and can be made at any time. Visit their website and click on the St. Baldrick's icon.
