Arrest Made In Weekend Mamaroneck Avenue Hit-And-Run
A 22-year-old woman was charged with leaving the scene of the accident in which a 67-year-old pedestrian was injured, police said.

MAMARONECK, NY — Good Samaritans helped make sure a hit-and-run driver did not escape responsibility for her actions, according to police.
On Saturday, just after 10:30 a.m., the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department began receiving 911 calls about a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian on Mamaroneck Avenue at Prospect Avenue.
The victim, a 67-year-old woman from Mamaroneck, was crossing Mamaroneck Avenue in the crosswalk, when she was struck by a vehicle making a left turn from Prospect Avenue, according to investigators.

Th driver of the car left the scene after striking the pedestrian, according to police, who said the driver did not stop to check on the victim or call 911 to report the accident. Officers responded to the scene and soon located the vehicle and driver, who had been stopped by another driver who witnessed the accident.
The driver, a 22-year-old woman, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a personal injury and cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The Larchmont woman was released on her own recognizance with a future court date, according to police.
