Live 'Radio' Performance Of Classic Twilight Zone Comes To Larchmont

The unsettling and anachronistic night of old-time radio theater comes just in time to welcome the the eeriest of holidays.

LARCHMONT, NY — Prepare to enter a dimension not just of sight and sound, but a time when our imaginations provided all the special effects we needed ... welcome to the "Twilight Zone" audio theater experience.

A spine-tingling and time-traveling Halloween event will take place at the Larchmont Library on Oct. 28, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

"The Twilight Zone" is remembered as was one of televison's greatest shows, but it was also a unique radio series. This Halloween season, there will be a very special, one-time-only "Twilight Zone" experience at the Larchmont Library.

The "audio theater" recreation of the classic Twilight Zone episode, "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street," will be performed by the Sandbox Theater players. The performance will be presented to an audience of Twilight Zone fans and the blind & visually impaired in the community.

The story involves the possible invasion of aliens and the effect it has on a seemingly close-knit neighborhood. SPOILER ALERT: We are told there might be a twist ending.

This performance will be a one-time/no recording performance, made possible by special permission from CBS/Paramount.

The Twilight Zone Experience is co-sponsored by the Larchmont Library, the Sandbox Theater, SPERDVAC (The Society for the Preservation of Radio Drama, Variety and Comedy), The Westchester Council For the Blind, LMC Media & the Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions Club.

The event is part of The LM Lions Centennial Celebration – 100 years of service to the community and responding to natural and man-made disasters.
