Save The Date (And The Bees), Pollinator Pathway Garden Tour Blooming

LARCHMONT/MAMARONECK, NY — Everything depends on pollinators doing their jobs and this weekend, we can learn a thing or two about helping those busy bees, hummingbirds or butterflies to help us.

The 2nd Annual Larchmont Mamaroneck Pollinator Pathway Garden Tour will be held this Sunday, from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

The popular free event is held during National Pollinator Week, an annual celebration to raise awareness for pollinators and spread the word about how to protect them.

One out of every three bites of food are dependent on pollination. You can thank a pollinator for coffee, blueberries, watermelon and 1,000 other foods worldwide. Pollinators include hummingbirds, bats, beetles, bees, ants, wasps, butterflies and other small animals who move pollen from flower to flower, causing fertilization.

The tour will feature pesticide-free local gardens full of colorful flowers, native shrubs and trees.

The map of the gardens on the tour will be available here and will also be posted at the Larchmont Library and at the various gardens on the day of the tour.

The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Pollinator Pathway is part of a patchwork of pollinator projects, gardens and parks across Westchester County and the Northeast, featuring native plants and zero pesticide use, in order to support pollinators.
