"Bill’s work is beautiful and captures his version of Southern Italy using pastels, oils and watercolors," curator Post said. "His work is vibrant and depicts both landscapes, seascapes, and the working class people he encounters doing their daily jobs. I think exhibit guests will be able to experience what living in Italy is like through his art."
Adam Stoltz, who co-founded The Idea Kitchen with his wife Andrea, said he is thrilled with this newest art collaboration with Post and is happy to work with KTTCW for the first time.
"Connection with our local community is core to the mission of The Idea Kitchen and we are very happy with this new collaboration," Stoltz said. "There is always a wonderful sense of community and camaraderie during the public artists’ reception, the artwork is amazing, and visitor attendance continues to increase. Seeing the concept expand with workshops and giving everyone a taste of Italy through both art and food is an exciting opportunity to enrichen the experience of those coming to see the work."
Post is an art curator, graphic designer, photographer and artist, and a New York Institute of Technology graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, who lives in New Rochelle.
"Southern Italy — An American Artist's Life" will run from April 1 through June 29, at The Idea Kitchen, located at 1940 Palmer Ave, in Larchmont. The exhibit is open to the public during normal business hours.
There will be two opportunities to meet Papaleo, featuring light refreshments with an Italian flair, and a playlist created by Post of Italian songs. Post, Stoltz and KTTCW said everyone is invited to attend the opening reception on April 5, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. A closing reception will take place on June 23, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is free. KTTCW will also be holding writing workshops at the coworking space, inspired by Papaleo's work, with some of the work to be read during the closing reception.
