2 Arrests Made After Loaded Gun Recovered At Nassau Hotel: Police

The Nassau County Gang Investigation Squad made the arrests on Monday morning, police said.

BETHPAGE, NY — Two people were arrested on Monday morning for having a loaded gun, police said.

The Nassau police's Gang Investigation Squad took Joshua Garrett, 20, of Amityville, and Janea Wolfolk, 26, of Hempstead, into custody without incident, authorities said.

Nassau police assisted Suffolk police and the Suffolk District Attorney's office in issuing search warrants. While executing a warrant at the Extended Stay America on South Oyster Bay Road in Bethpage, a loaded Glock 43 9 mm handgun was recovered, leading to Garrett and Wolfolk's arrest, police said.

They are both charged with criminal possession of a firearm. Garrett is also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. Wolfolk was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court on March 14.

Garret was expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
