2 Killed As Car Slams Into Utility Pole On LI: Police

The driver and passenger died from their injuries on Sunday evening, police said.

LEVITTOWN, NY — Two people were killed when a car struck a utility pole in Levittown on Sunday, Nassau police said.

At 5:30 p.m., an 89-year-old male driver lost control of his 2001 Ford Taurus at Loring Road near North Jerusalem Road, police said.

He died at the scene, while the 88-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries and died at a nearby hospital, authorities said.
