Assault Charge For Nassau Woman After Cutting Man: Police
The pair were arguing over ending their relationship when she lunged at him with knives in both hands, police say.
LEVITTOWN, NY — A Levittown woman was charged with assault in connection with her cutting a man with a knife after he tried to end his relationship with her on Tuesday night, Nassau police said.
A 911 caller notified officers about an assault with a weapon at around 9:45 p.m., and when they arrived, they found blood on the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom floors, but the home was empty because the victim had already gone to the hospital, according to police.
Officers responded to the hospital and were told the man, 29, was arguing with the 29-year-old woman about ending their relationship when she confronted him with a knife in each hand and lunged at him with the one in her right hand, police said.

The man raised his right arm to block her attack, suffering a laceration to his forearm, and the she dropped both knives and accompanied him to the hospital, according to police.
She was later arrested by officers without incident, and charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

She will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
