Car Crashes Into LI Home; Resident Assaults Firefighter: PD
The firefighter for his injuries from the confrontation at an area hospital on Sunday afternoon, police said.

BETHPAGE, NY — A car drove into a house in Bethpage on Sunday afternoon, police said. A 16-year-old male driver lost control of the 2024 black BMW and crashed into a residence on N. Windhorst Avenue, police said.
There were no injuries from the crash, but Salvatore Conte, 70, got angry with a 52-year-old firefighter inside the house, authorities said. Conte pushed the firefighter, causing an injury to his hip, police said.
Officers used their Taser as Conte was resisting arrest, police said. The injured firefighter was treated at an area hospital.

Conte is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
