Councilman Hudes Leads Class Presentation at Island Trees HS

Levittown students were given a lesson in local government from none other than their own town Councilman and Levittown neighbor, Gary Hudes.

Hudes visited Island Trees High School on Feb. 27 to make an educational presentation to the high schoolers.

“It is very important that our young people learn about the functions of government and the services it provides to our community,” said Hudes. “I would like to thank Island Trees High School for inviting me to participate in the education of students.”

Darlene Means, a government teacher at Island Trees High School, said, “Councilman Hudes really gets into the community and gets close to the people. More politicians should do this.”

At the conclusion of his presentation, Hudes held an open forum with students, discussing laws and talking about ways to improve their community. If residents would like to arrange for Councilman Hudes to speak at their school or organization, they can contact his office at (516) 812-3180.
