Crimes Nearby: Students Approached by Stranger, LA Fitness Thefts
A look at recent crime in the area.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.
East Meadow
- On April 30, two students were approached by a man as they were walking on Bellmore Road and Granz Court. For more details, click here.
- On April 23, cash, an IPod, and a Tori Burch wallet was stolen from a car at the Hunter Business School off of Hempstead Turnpike.
- On April 24 and 25, police reported a number of thefts at LA Fitness off of Hempstead Turnpike. A credit card, cash and a pocketbook was stolen from a car, a wallet, credit card and cash was stolen from four different lockers and a wallet with cash was stolen from a separate locker.
- On April 25, glass was broken on a car outside Tutor Time.
- Two women were arrested on May 1 inside an unnamed storefront at 172 Center Lane and charged with performed unlicensed massages on undercover detectives and then offering to perform a sexual act for an additional amount of money. For more details, click here. Â Â Â
- A handicap permit was removed from an unlocked vehicle parked on Blue Spruce Lane sometime between April 20-21.
- A 2002 black Ford was stolen from a parking lot on Wantagh Avenue on April 23.
- A fence on Bunker Avenue was discovered damaged on April 27.
- A bike was stolen from the Wantagh Long Island Rail Road station plaza on April 27. It is unknown if the bike was locked.
