Dump Truck Rolls Over on LIE Near Hicksville Exit

Big traffic tie-ups in eastbound lanes at Routes 106/107 at Hicksville.

A large dump truck flipped over on its side Monday morning on the Long Island Expressway at Route 106/107, spilling its contents and causing major delays in the eastbound lanes of the expressway.

The crash took place about 10 a.m. in the vicinity of Exit 41, the ramp for Routes 106/107 at Hicksville and Jericho. The crash sent debris all over the roadway and the area was closed as crews cleaned up. Police said the clean-up could take an extended amount of time.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

As of 11 a.m., there were major delays in both directions of the LIE between Post Road in Westbury and South Oyster Bay Road in Syosset, according to the Patch live traffic map.

The cause of the crash in unknown this morning.
