
The following is a bio for Island Trees Library Trustee candidate, William Fitzgerald.
The Island Trees Public Library budget vote and Trustee election will take place on Tuesday, April 23 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Library’s Dolores M. Morehouse Community Room.
“Upon entering the workplace full-time he opened several small businesses. Owning and running the day to day operations of residential and commercial Roofing and Siding Company and a part time window cleaning business which seemed to grow and grow.
After settling into High-Rise Commercial window cleaning, William eventually became a major player and authority in the tight knit Industry. He has been trusted to consult and take the lead on major Rigging and cleaning projects that occur over 700' above the ground on some of NYC most prestigious buildings. He has been the lead on such projects for the new Goldman Sachs building, Time Warner Center, The Hearst Tower to name a few.
He moved to Island Trees in 2003 with his wife Christina and two small children. Since then he has added another son to the family. His three children Billy 12, Brianna,10, and Michael 9 all attend School in Island Trees. His wife Christina is involved as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts and William has coached baseball, basketball, and football. He is currently on the Island Trees baseball board.
If elected, Bill will be an asset to the Island Trees Library Board. He will be able to use his successful career in business to stretch our hard earned tax dollars. Furthermore, the history of his volunteer work proves his dedication to the Island Trees Community. These attributes will serve the people well if he is elected.”
