Levittown Footballer Nominated For Heart Of A Giant Award
You can vote for Jack Butler to help him bring home $5,000 for the MacArthur High School football program.
LEVITTOWN, NY — A MacArthur High School footballer has been nominated for the Heart of a Giant award, and could take home thousands for the school's football program.
Jack Butler has been nominated for the award, which is sponsored by the Hospital for Special Surgery and the New York Giants. The student athletes are chosen from nominees from throughout the Tri-State area.
Though Butler was sidelined this season by COVID, and then by an ankle injury, he has still been a presence on the team and throughout the school. He's a peer leader at MacArthur, and helps incoming freshmen adjust to high school life. He also referees youth flag football, and helps at football and baseball clinics.

"He is a great role model and always puts the team ahead of any personal accomplishments," said MacArthur Coach Bobby Fehrenbach. "You truly would love to have a team full of Jack Butler's. I don't know what he will do in life, but whatever it is, I know he will be successful."
Butler is in the running to be this year's Heart of a Giant winner. There will be 11 finalists who will each receive $1,000 for their school's football program. The winner will take home $5,000 for their team.
