LEVITTOWN, NY — A mother, father and young daughter have safely escaped an inferno that swept through the Levittown home they'd just moved into, officials said.
The fire broke out on Redwing Lane around 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Levittown firefighters returning from an unrelated call responded to the blaze within minutes, officials said. They arrived to heavy flames shooting out of the two-story home and were able to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
No one was hurt.

The family had moved into the home Saturday morning. The Red Cross was alerted to assist the family.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
