LEVITTOWN, NY — The driver of what appeared to be an SUV crashed into the side of a Levittown home early Wednesday and sped off, officials said. The Levittown Volunteer Fire Department was called to Cornflower Road around 4:30 a.m., officials told Patch.
There they learned a driver lost control of the vehicle on a curve in the roadway and smashed into the side of a home. The driver then fled the scene.
Firefighters checked the home's utilities to ensure there were no issues. The Town of Hempstead Building Department was also called to ensure the home was structurally sound.
