Levittown Kids 'Road' to Kindness with Character-Building Week
Lee Road third-graders studied the importance of friendship and the characteristics of a good friend during Kindness Week.
As part of Levittown School District’s Get a Voice character education program, Lee Road third-grade students in Rochelle Cascio’s class studied the importance of friendship and the characteristics of a good friend.
During the classroom’s Kindness Week, the students were instructed to perform one act of kindness without the expectation of praise, according to a school news release.
Students also secretly picked a kindness buddy and revealed their choice with the crafting of a colorful card, the release stated.

During a writing assignment, the students also wrote about how to be a good friend.
Classroom discussion also included topics about acts of kindness, and each student read compliments to one another from a kindness jar.
