Fifth-grade students enrolled at Northside Elementary School in the Levittown School District explored aviation by reading about the Wright Brothers in their youth and their achievements in the field of flight.
This lesson was supplemented with a video streamed through Discovery Education titled “The Wright Brothers: Showing Mankind How to Fly.”
The unit culminated with a field trip to the Cradle of Aviation Museum, which chronicles 100 years of flight, beginning with the history of hot air balloons and ending with space exploration.
