Flu season generally runs from October to May; back-to-school plans should include flu shots, according to experts.
In preparation for the upcoming flu season, a number of local pharmacies have begun to offer flu vaccinations.

The cost for the flu shot is $35 in New York and Connecticut and most major insurance plans along with Medicare are accepted. Customers with a Stop & Shop prescription savings card will receive $10 off the regular price of a flu shot.
