LEVITTOWN, NY — Levittown native Dr. Beth Zirogiannis was named the school district's new assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction at the Board of Education meeting on May 4. She is taking over the role currently held by Todd Winch, who will be the next superintendent of schools.

Zirogiannis will return to Levittown after serving as the director of English, reading and library media services for the Oceanside School District since 2010, where she had a significant impact at the administrative and educational levels. She helped support the implementation of iPads and Chromebooks for students in grades 6-12 and developed the district’s administrative mentoring program and served as the program’s coordinator. She also recently served on Oceanside’s district-wide Culturally Responsive Education and Equity Committee and on the high school’s Race and Equity Committee.

“I could not be more excited to return to my hometown of Levittown,” Zirogiannis said. “The Levittown School District has an outstanding reputation, and I am humbled by this incredible opportunity to get to know everyone and continue the good work.”
