LI Weather: Dreary Start To Week, Then Warm And Sunny

Monday will be rainy, and possibly bring some snow. But then it's clear skies and warm temperatures for the rest of the week.

LONG ISLAND, NY — After a dreary start, Long Islanders can look forward to a warm and sunny week, with temperatures in the low-to-mid 40s most days.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday is the worst day this week. Rain may transition to snow later tonight and very early into Tuesday morning, but it's not expected to stick.

Then things start clearing. Tuesday will go from cloudy to sunny, and then it's mostly sunny for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Tonight: Rain likely before 5 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 35. North wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday: Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 43. West wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. West wind 7 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 40. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34.
