MacArthur Class of 1972 Donates Funds for Walk of Recognition

Levittown’s MacArthur High School has turned 50, and in commemoration of its anniversary, the community has been invited to participate throughout the year in an anniversary brick fundraiser. 

During the Sept. 11 Board of Education meeting at Levittown Memorial Education Center, a $3,000 donation from the Class of 1972 helped the engraved walkway move one step closer to completion.

Class of 1972 representatives Maria Bekkevold, Patricia Butt, Janette Smith Harden, Kathy Karr Menikos and Deborah Sablich were on hand to present the check to the district. 

The representatives also donated a tank watch owned by Tyrus Lee (Class of 1972), a highway patrol officer in former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s motorcade detail. The watch had been a present to Lee from the governor.
