MacArthur High School’s 3 Cheer Teams Win Big At Regional Championship
All three teams are advancing to the national competition, two for the fist time in school history.
LEVITTOWN, NY — All three cheer teams at General Douglas MacArthur High School in the Levittown Public School District have qualified for the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.
The Varsity Game Day team, the Varsity Traditional team and the Junior Varsity team attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s Poconos Regional Championship on Dec. 3. The Varsity Game Day and the Junior Varsity teams took first place in their divisions. This is the first time in MacArthur’s history that the Game Day and JV teams are being sent to regionals and nationals.
The all-girl Traditional team finished second place and also received a bid to attend the NHSCC.
The NHSCC is among the most prestigious of high school national championships and will take place in February.
