Nassau Mask Ban Arrest; Man Concealed Identity, 14-Inch Knife: Police
Police say Wesslin Omar Ramirez Castillo, 18, was acting suspiciously in a Levittown neighborhood on Sunday evening.

LEVITTOWN, NY — A Hicksville man was arrested for violating the new Mask Transparency Act, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a suspicious man, Wesslin Omar Ramirez Castillo, 18, Sunday evening on Spindle Road in Levittown, Nassau County police said.
He was dressed in black with a mask to conceal his identity, police said.

Ramirez Castillo attempted to conceal a large bulge in his waistband, which turned out to be a 14-inch knife, authorities said.
He refused to comply with officers' commands as he was placed under arrest, police said.

Ramirez Castillo was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and the Nassau County Local Law Mask Transparency Act. He was arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman signed the bill into law earlier this month.
