
The Levittown board of education meets for a regular meeting on Wednesday night, 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Memorial Education Center.
Here's a look at what to expect at the meeting courtesy the agenda, which is posted on the Levittown schools website:
- This meeting will be devoted to reports from the Superintendent of Schools and Board Members, regular agenda items of old and new business and schedules.
- A period not to exceed two hours shall be set aside to afford residents of the community and/or employees of the district an opportunity to make comments or to raise questions related to school affairs.
Recognition: Robert Galino, East Broadway. Classroom Makeover (NSASA-Nassau Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America), Krista Vaughan (class parent), Jeff Abbate (Merrick Outback Steakhouse), Mark Smitkin (Heineken with a Heart), and Suzanne Reek (NSASA). MacArthur HS's art display will also be recognized.
Annual Meeting Resolution - The school and library budget vote and board of trustees elections will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Election Districts are Gardiners Ave. School, East Broadway School, Levittown Memorial Education Center and Division Avenue High School.
A statement of estimated expenses for the 2013-14 school year will be presented at a public hearing on Tuesday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room of the Levittown Memorial Education Center.
Nomination to Nassau BOCES Board - The board will nominate two candidates for election to the Nassau BOCES Board for a three year term, beginning July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2016.
Meeting Reminders: Budget Planning Session #2 will be held on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. and #3 will be held on April 3, 7:30 p.m.
