Over 200 Levittown Kids Commended For AP Exam Scores
The students from Division Avenue and General Douglas MacArthur high school were recognized for exceptional achievement on the AP exams.
LEVITTOWN, NY — More than 200 Levittown students have been recognized for their exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement exams.
The students from Division Avenue and General Douglas MacArthur high schools were commended as Advanced Placement Scholars, the district announced Friday. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on student performance on the tests. Students who complete AP courses and score at least a 3 on the final exam could earn college credit.
- More than 130 students were recognized as AP Scholars, given to those who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
- Sixty-seven students were named AP Scholars with Distinction, given to students with an average score of at least a 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
- Fifty-nine students were selected as AP Scholars with Honor, having an average score of at least a 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
- Twenty-five students received the AP Capstone Diploma, earning a 3 or higher in both AP Seminar & AP Research and also a 3 or higher on four additional AP exams.
- Thirteen students from both high schools were designated National AP Scholars, granted to those who receive an average score of at least a 4 on all AP exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
- Eleven students received the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. These students earned a 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
- One student, William Chen from MacArthur High School, received the AP International Diploma, granted to students who earn an average score of at least a 3 or higher on five or more AP exams in three or more subject areas.
