Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In Levittown: Police

A 76-year-old man was hit and killed by a car on Hempstead Turnpike.

LEVITTOWN, NY — A 76-year-old man was killed after getting hit by a car in Levittown on Monday, authorities said Thursday.

Shortly after 1 p.m., Nassau County police were called to the area of Hempstead Turnpike and Emerson Avenue for the report of a serious pedestrian-involved collision.

Michael Tucker, of Great Neck, was at the intersection when he was struck by a 2022 Hyundai traveling east on Hempstead Turnpike, police said. The driver, only identified as an 82-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

Tucker was then taken to a local hospital, where he died, according to officials.

An investigation is ongoing.
