Police: Armed With Knife, Man Burglarizes Couple in Levittown Home

Brandishing a knife, the man allegedly punched the female victim and stole two items before fleeing.

A Suffolk man armed with a knife allegedly forced his way into a Levittown home late Sunday night and stole from a couple, Nassau Police said.

According to detectives, William Christ, 58, of West Babylon went to the victims' Thrush Lane home brandishing a large knife. He allegedly pointed it at the female victim, 30, and punched her several times in the head and face. 

The defendant then pointed the knife at the male victim, 31, took his wallet along with the female victim’s pocket book, left the residence and fled the scene in an unknown direction in his car. The defendant was known to the victims, police stated.

On Monday police arrested the defendant at his West Babylon residence without incident. 

He is charged with Burglary 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
