Police: Man Had Marijuana, Crack Cocaine With Kids in Car

Wyandanch man arrested on multiple charges in Bethpage Saturday.

A Wyandanch man was arrested on multiple drug charges in Bethpage Saturday after he was allegedly spotted rolling a marijuana cigarette in his car with his two young children in the backseat, according to police. 

Police said they observed Donail Campbell, 21, in a 2003 Cadillac making the marijuana cigarette while parked in the rear parking area at 320 Broadway. Officers approached the vehicle and observed Campbell’s girlfriend in the front passenger seat and their two children, ages 3 and 1, in the rear passenger seat, according to police.

Campbell was then found to be in possession of marijuana, crack cocaine and $1,329 in cash, police said. The female and her children were released at the Second Precinct.

Campbell is being charged with third and fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful marijuana possession and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned on Sunday, September 1 in First District Court, Hempstead.
