"We looked for someone who's a proven tax fighter, someone who helped make Nassau County the safest county in the United States," Nassau Republicans Chairman Joe Cairo said. "Someone who's fought antisemitism and hate in general [and] someone who's involved in the community with his family."
Ferretti earned his Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University and a Juris Doctorate from CUNY School of Law. He's practiced law for more than a decade.
"I'm incredibly excited for this opportunity," Ferretti said. "When you decide to run for elected office, you do it because you want to make a difference in people's lives."
In the November general election, Ferretti will face former NYPD officer Joe Scianabo, a Marine veteran who served in Iraq, as the Democratic challenger.
But the Republican thinks he's best suited to win as supervisor.
"I feel I have the experience of both the private sector and in government that qualifies me for this position," Ferretti said.
