Summit Lane Studies Native Americans

Story by Liz Sobel.

Levittown’s Summit Lane Elementary School students in Bridget Maniscalco’s fourth-grade class studied the history and culture of the Native Americans of New York.

As part of their research, each student created a trifold presentation on facts they had learned about the Iroquois of New York. In conjunction with this project, the students read “Eagle Song” by Joseph Bruchac.

They each created their own Tree of Peace, which illustrated how they could bring about peace in their own daily lives.
