Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray was recently presented with an award by Long Island Contractors’ Association, Inc. (LICA) Executive Director Marc Herbst (pictured left) at its Annual Nassau County Local Government Breakfast Meeting held at the Caryle on the Green in Farmingdale.
The purpose of the local government breakfast meeting was to discuss the region’s public works capital programs for the upcoming construction season as well as other concerns. LICA also had the chief executive officers and top public works officials of Nassau County; it’s towns, and villages to share a brief overview of their plans and visions for future improvements.
LICA represents the interests of about 150 of our region’s premier heavy construction general contractor, subcontractor, supplier firms and industry supporters. Focused primarily in the transportation infrastructure construction industry, such as highways, bridges, sewers and other public works. LICA’s member companies play a significant role in the economic vitality of Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
