Teen In Critical Condition After Falling Out Of Pickup Truck: NCPD

Police say teens were doing donuts in a parking lot when one fell out of the bed of the pickup, suffering serious injuries.

BETHPAGE, NY — A teen is in critical condition after an accident while his friend was doing donuts in a Bethpage parking lot Wednesday night, Nassau County police said.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup truck in a parking lot near Stewart Avenue and Arumdaun Street at 11:25 p.m. on Wednesday. He had two friends sitting in the bed of the pickup truck.

As the teen was driving donuts, police say one of the passengers, a 16-year-old boy, fell out of the truck. He suffered facial and skull fractures from the fall. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition.

The teen driver was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in Family Court on July 12.
