Trooper Exposed To Opioids While Saving Woman From Overdose: Police
Police said the woman crashed her car on the Wantagh Parkway while driving high, and a trooper was exposed to drugs during the response.

LEVITTOWN, NY — A state trooper was exposed opioids while responding to a crash on the Wantagh State Parkway Thursday afternoon, police said.
State police were dispatched to the roadway around 1:15 p.m. for a car driving erratically. When they arrived, police said they found a car on the side of the road, disabled due to a crash.
The driver was unresponsive and suffering from an opioid overdose, police said. The troopers administered naloxone to counteract the overdose, police said, and the driver was taken to Nassau University Medical Center.

While the troopers were investigating, police said one started to have the symptoms of opioid exposure. The trooper was also given naloxone and taken to NUMC.
The driver, Jaqueline Ann Morales, 35, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
