Weekend Car Crash In Nassau Leaves Man Critically Hurt: Police

The victim was struck by a vehicle crossing Hempstead Turnpike on Saturday night, police said.

LEVITTOWN, NY — A pedestrian was seriously hurt when he was struck by a car on Saturday evening in Levittown, police said.

The victim, 76, was crossing Hempstead Turnpike near Ranch Lane at 8:30 p.m. when a 2020 Nissan Altima hit him, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition. The 29-year-old male driver remained at the scene.
